Another week down...more to go
Well ...I got through the week of chemo pills......BUT my labs where slightly abnormal last week so I was unable to do the IV chemo ...SO it is pushed back until 7/16. OH well there goes my MILKSHAKE....I will savore it next week.....I will post a new picture for those who have not seen me with my BALD head..... I get lots of looks from people that have not seen me in awhile....IT's funny cuz I wonder if they think I was wearing a good rug previously....or if I went of the deep end and decided to shave my head for no apparent reason !! UPDATE soon C YA !!

I'm BACK ...............
I am back.....I had a "slight" news that ALMOST broke the camels back...BUT I was able to get through it !! So far the meds the Dr's have given to me for my cycst has work and I might not need surgery if all goes well. I have had 2 sessions of chemo and starting this week for 5 days...in addition to IV chemo I take a chemo pill...I started last night 6/29/09 and I have my 3rd IV chemo treatment Thursday july 2nd...I have been doing well considering that I have enough chemicals in my body.....I make a herion addict look clean !! I am back at work...UGGH ! But in this economy it's weird to say but THANK GOD I have a job. I have a AWESOME wife that is becoming a GREAT cook and a great support group that allows me to keep focused at the "task at hand" I hope AGAIN to update my BLOG regularly so keep watching...sending GOOD thoughts...and prayers my way...IT IS TRUELY KEEPING ME GOING !!!

Another blog from Sister Sylvie....!
Another angel has come forward to help Guy during this challenging time.....
My best friend, Patti Balchon, and her husband Ed are doing a bike ride for an organization called Miles for Hope. This organization raises funds for brain cancer research. They will raise funds in honor of Guy and their goal is $3000.00. I have listed the link below for anyone who wishes to donate towards their goal. Patti has known Guy since he was 4 years old so he is near and dear to her heart and she considers him her adoptive brother.

Update from Sister Sylvie
Hi everyone -- it's Sylvie blogging for Guy.
His "official" chemo treatments started Thursday, June 4th. Amazingly, Guy didn't have any of the typical side effects like nausea or lack of taste-buds! The treatment lasted 1-1/2 hours and he goes every two weeks. The next treatment will be an hour and the one after that 30 minutes(this is what I remember from our conversation!!). The highlight of this chemo session was the milkshake he was told to drink after the treatment. You would've thought he was on Survivor and won a reward challenge! Apparently, tumors attract sugar and they tell you to drink the milkshake so that the chemo goes to the tumor quicker!!! AMAZING science. He continues with the radiation treatments.
He has totally changed his eating habits after reading a book that shows you how to eat to get rid of cancer! He takes long walks on a daily basis and has started doing yoga to clear his mind. His attitude has been extremely positive -- that is until last week!! The straw that broke the camel's back came last week when Guy started feeling pain in his lower back. He went to the chiropractor thinking it was muscle related. But nooooooooo -- that would be too easy! It's actually a cyst that has formed and so he has to have it surgically removed. He's taking medicine to help get rid of the infection -- we'll see how it goes over the next week or so. Guy says it's the evil coming out of him -- and after growing up with him, I'd have to agree (LOL! I still love you bro!). All of your good wishes, positive thoughts and prayers have helped him and the family tremendously -- keep them coming.
Before I end this post, I want to mention that Guy is surrounded by real angels. One in particular is his good friend, Steve (Mouse) Meltzer. Mouse has arranged to have some chores done for the next 6 months for Guy and Kim. He is personally cutting the grass each Friday for Guy. He has arranged for Guy's pool to be cleaned for the next 6 months, and he has arranged for their house to be cleaned for the next 6 months. He reached out to their closest friends for all of this to happen. How amazing is he?! Friendships like this are hard to find -- !! Thanks, Mouse, for making all of this happen for Guy and Kim.

Past the half way of RADIATION
I have officially past the half way point of my Radiation treatments (19 of 33 done 5/27/09) and I am still feeling good...My hair in the area of radiation is now completely gone...BUT from I hear BALD IS BEAUTIFUL !! I still get the funny looks from people who haven't seen me in a while ...but thats ok. I start the IV chemo June 4th (if all goes well with my insurance !!! WHAT A PAIN IN THE ASS) but I am keeping positive thoughts !! All the prayers and thoughts are giving me alot energy ...so keep them coming.... UNTIL NEXT UPDATE ......

The Road Has Begun...
I have begun my "journey" into the world of Radiation & Chemo thearpy....and so far so go!! I completely changed my eating habits and have added many supplements (13 extra pills a day) to my daily intake of pills...and I have to honestly say that I have more energy now then before I started everything...!!?? I even questioned if they are giving me the right "stuff" !! I take extremely long,fast pace walks and have begun to take YOGA classes and that has helped TREMENDOUSLY. I was such a skeptic on YOGA before...But it is amazing at what a powerful mind we have if you channel it correctly !! I see the Dr. thurs 5/21/09 and will begin IV chemo the next week I would imagine....I will be at the half way point of my Radiation treatment by then !!! YES !!!! This past weekend My hair finally fell out at the place where the radiation goes in...So now I am called THE BALD ONE....I decided not to fight it and I had a head shaving night....it feels a little different BUT Kim says I am still a SEXY man ......and thats the only opion that counts in my book !! I hope to update this better & post a few PIXS in the next few days & weeks to come as MY JOURNEY enters PHASE duex...Thank you for all your thoughts an PRAYERS they have REALLY REALLY pulled me out of some tough times...I feel the energy that is sent my way... Keep them cumm'in !

On March 18th, 2009 I had surgery to remove the tumor from my head...thinking I was done with everything I went for a follow up and found out that I would need Chemo & Radiation therapy. I will begin both both April 27th and continue to fight this thing until it's completely gone...I will need 5-7 weeks of radiation therapy with 5-7 weeks of oral chemo (pill form) and 6 months of IV form chemo. I am little scared and anxious about how it will affect me...BUT I have a GREAT supportive family, GOD, and I'm tring to keep a positive attitude (but @ times it's tough!!!) I will continue to post updates as I begin my "journey" of this fight.
